Over 200 Signatures for the Tamborine Mountain Arts Precinct
April 2023 marks a significant milestone for the Tamborine Mountain Arts Precinct and our dream to honour the memory of the beloved Katy, who sadly lost her battle with breast cancer in February, 2023. The vision for the Tamborine Mountain Precinct was born shortly after Kate’s passing, is inspired by Kate’s memory and drives our commitment to nurturing the arts community she loved. In our pursuit to support and celebrate the local artists of Tamborine Mountain, we initiated a petition on Change.org. The response was exactly what we were expecting - overwhelmingly positive.
The Heart of Our Petition:
Launched on April 4th, 2023, the petition encapsulated a heartfelt tribute to Katy, a vibrant soul who deeply loved the arts and Tamborine Mountain. An artist, vice president of the Tamborine Mountain Little Theatre, choir member, and a passionate participant in the local arts scene, Katy's legacy is the cornerstone of our mission. We aimed to rally the community to support the creation of a permanent art gallery, a space where local artists can thrive and contribute to a flourishing economic art community.
An Overwhelming Response: The outpouring of support was immediate and inspiring. In a short span, we received over 200 signatures, a clear testament to the community's desire for a dedicated arts precinct. This overwhelming positive response has not only validated our vision but has also energized our efforts to transform Tamborine Mountain into a premier arts hub in southeast Queensland.

As we move forward, we carry the spirit of Katy and the support of over 200 individuals who share our dream.
