TMAC Presentation - Artist in Residency
In August 2023, the Tamborine Mountain Arts Precinct (TMAP) team had the privilege of presenting our vision and business model to the TMAC (Tamborine Mountain Art Collective) Artist in Residency program, engaging TMAC members and the wider Tamborine Mountain community. This event marked a significant milestone in our journey towards creating a community gallery and arts precinct that embodies the spirit and creativity of Tamborine Mountain.
Our presentation began with an introduction of our dedicated team, each bringing their unique skills and passion for the arts to the project. We delved into the origins of our idea, inspired by the loss of Ashley Tardy's Mother, and John Tardy's wife, Kate Tardy - a renown and passionate artist and much loved and active member in the Tamborine Mountain community. Our vision is to provide a vibrant space where artists can showcase their work, collaborate, and thrive—a place that not only celebrates local talent but also invites the community to engage with the arts in meaningful ways.
The response from the audience was overwhelmingly positive. TMAC artists expressed their enthusiasm for the prospect of having a dedicated community gallery and precinct, recognizing the value it would bring not just to artists but to the entire Tamborine Mountain community. The support and forward-looking optimism shared by the attendees underscored a collective eagerness to see this vision come to life.
This presentation was not just an opportunity to share our plans but also a moment to witness the community's shared passion for the arts. The artists of TMAC are looking forward to having a space that not only showcases their work but also serves as a beacon of creativity and inspiration for Tamborine Mountain. The TMAP team is inspired by this feedback and more committed than ever to making our shared dream a reality.
As we move forward, we are buoyed by the community's support and look forward to continuing our collaboration with TMAC members and all Tamborine Mountain residents. Together, we will create an arts precinct that celebrates our collective creativity, enriches our community, and stands as a testament to the power of shared vision and perseverance.
